that reflect its commitment to breaking down barriers to education and supporting
the community. The College held two ribbon-cutting ceremonies for its new Food Pantry
and Career Closet, followed by the introduction of the First Steps 4K program. Both
events will took place on the Rock Hill Campus at 452 S. Anderson Road.
The first ribbon cutting celebrated the opening of the Food Pantry and Career Closet, the "Wolf's Den." These resources are designed to meet students where they are, providing the groceries
they need to stay focused in class and the professional attire required for job interviews
                        and career opportunities.
The second ribbon cutting celebrated the opening of the First Steps 4K program at
our Child Development Center (CDC). The First Steps 4K program offers free, full-day childcare for four-year-olds, allowing
York Tech students who are parents to pursue their education knowing their children
are in a safe, nurturing environment. This program will complement the CDC’s existing
services, which already provide high-quality childcare for children from 6 weeks to
5 years old.“Our mission is centered on student success, and these services reflect our commitment
to breaking down the barriers that can prevent our students from achieving their educational
goals,” said Dr. Stacey Moore, President of York Technical College. “Whether it’s
by providing essential resources like food and clothing or offering childcare that
allows parents to focus on their studies, we are here to support our students every
                        step of the way.”
