Dual Enrollment

Are you interested in taking college courses while still in high school? Getting ahead on college credits? Or maybe you're looking to acclimate to college culture before starting at a four-year institution.

Whatever your reason may be, York Technical College can provide you with the higher education and career preparation you need to make your dreams become reality. We offer dual enrollment to all high school students in the College's service area of Chester, Lancaster, and York Counties.

Students in a computer labThrough dual enrollment, you'll be able to take courses from our wide range of quality programs, saving up to thousands of dollars as you jump-start your college education before even graduating high school. Not only can you earn a degree or certificate before graduating high school to get started in your career, but you can continue your education by transferring to a four-year college or university to earn a bachelor's degree.

Alternatively, if you're looking to jump straight into the job market, our hands-on learning approach ensures that you'll be steps ahead of future competitors. You'll participate in hands-on learning activities in the classroom, while at the same time, earning valuable industry experience through Work-Based Learning opportunities, or internships and apprenticeships.

Our advisors are dedicated to your success and will work with you to design a course of study that meets your needs. In addition to taking college courses, you'll have access to the same student resources as our traditional college students. These resources are designed to help you succeed both inside and outside of the classroom, and range from tutoring to career advising, counseling, tech support, and more.  

Interested in Winthrop? We can put you on a Fast Track to Winthrop while you take dual enrollment classes with us. While you're here, you will only take dual enrollment classes that will feed directly into your selected major at Winthrop, guaranteeing a seamless transfer of credits and cutting the cost of your bachelor's degree in half.

To learn more about costs, we encourage you to check in with your school district. To be eligible for Lottery Tuition Assistance (LTA) or SCWINS, you must meet the requirements, including taking a minimum of 6 credit hours in any given semester.
