- York Technical College serves as the home campus and degree granting institution.
- Winthrop University Army ROTC provides military science instruction and leadership laboratories.

At York Technical College, first-time freshmen can join the Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) with no cost and no military commitment required during the first two years.
Through a partnership with Winthrop University and the Greater Charlotte Consortium, you stay enrolled at York Tech while taking Military Science (MLSC) classes and getting hands-on leadership experience. ROTC is designed to fit alongside your degree—not replace it.
Students who enjoy the program can transfer to a four year university to continue training and even pursue a path to becoming an Army officer. If you find the program isn't for you, you can simply walk away and continue your regular degree program at York Technical College.
