York Technical College Celebrates Opening of State-of-the-Art Massage Therapy Clinic
ROCK HILL, S.C. – (Feb. 4, 2026) – On Thursday, January 22, 2026, York Technical College unveiled its
new Massage Therapy Clinic with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Baxter Hood Center.
This marks a significant milestone for the College’s Massage Therapy Program and its
commitment to hands-on, workforce-ready education.
“This clinic reflects our mission in action and prepares students for meaningful careers
while meeting the needs of our community,” stated Dr. Juan Roldan, Assistant Vice
President of Workforce and Economic Development. “By investing in modern, industry-aligned
spaces like this one, we ensure our students graduate with the skills, confidence,
and experience today’s employers expect.”
Designed to mirror professional clinical settings, the space allows students to apply
classroom learnings in anatomy, therapeutic techniques, and client care through supervised
clinical hours. Students participating in the program learn advanced therapeutic techniques
to treat soft-tissue injuries and chronic pain, and to promote overall wellness.
All students in the first cohort had their tuition fully covered by the SC WINS scholarship
through the state of South Carolina and had job offers prior to graduation.
The second cohort of students is scheduled to start on March 2, 2026, with the Massage
Therapy Clinic expected to reopen in the second half of the year as students begin
their clinicals.
