Early Care and Education
Graduates of the Early Childhood Development Programs find employment in child care centers, preschools, Head Start programs, public schools, and private kindergartens. Working as a nanny, serving as a public school teacher assistant, and opening a private or family child care center, are also employment options. Positions in a child care setting may include teacher assistants, lead teachers, assistant directors, and directors or owners/operators. Graduates may also find employment in various agencies, programs and entities that serve children and their families.

Program Opportunities
Students in the Early Care and Education program have access to work-based learning opportunities, like internships, with local districts and development centers. Furthermore, students will participate in labs to complete their program, ensuring they are ready for their career.
Individuals in the Early Childhood Development Program work closely with our Child Development Center, an on campus childcare option available to students.
Career Outlook
Students who complete a program in Early Care and Education will be qualified to serve
as Child Care Directors or Assistant Directors, private preschool teachers, lead teachers
in child development centers, and assistant teachers in public school systems.

The Early Childhood Development Program offers additional short-term credentials as online or hybrid courses. We have partnered with SC Endeavors to provide stipends for individuals looking to take a credential.*
