Four York Technical College Students Crowned National Champions at SkillsUSA Competition
From June 23rd to June 27th, York Technical College attended the SkillsUSA National
Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. The conference hosted a series of rigorous career
focused competitions featuring the brightest students in the country, and we brought
our 27 strongest competitors to prove that our students are the best in the nation.
Our competitors spent the week preparing with their advisors, networking with students and industry leaders, and showcasing their skills in front of the judges.
During the awards ceremony, a total of 11 York Tech students made the podium, with 3 competitors earning bronze, 4 earning silver, and 4 earning gold and the title of "National Champion!" An additional 11 students placed in the top 10 for their competitions.

Benjamin Gregory: Principles of Engineering Technology - Silver
Jakob Ellison, Nathan Ellison, and Caleb LaMar: Engineering Technology Design - Silver
Kavyn Allison, Galena Barnhouse, and Kristina Hawkins: Career Pathways HHS - Bronze
Britney Hunter: Medical Math - 5th place
Stephan Buchanan: CNC-3 Axis - 6th place
Angelo Allison and William Vanderveer: 3D Animation - 6th place
Rashad Sharpe and Jaxon Ghent: Mechatronics - 7th place
Elijah McAllister: Job Interview - 9th place
Emma Mozingo: T-shirt Design - 9th place
Breanna Norris and Tyler Ward: Cybersecurity - 9th place
Taylor Omer: CNC-5 Axis - 10th place
The four national champions qualify to represent the United States of America on the international stage at WorldSkills.
