The College has thirty (30) calendar days from the date the deposit is received to furnish the requested records or make them available for inspection or copying. If the records are more than two years old, the College has thirty-five (35) calendar days from the date the deposit is received to furnish the requested records or make them available for inspection or copying.
Pursuant to S.C. Code Ann. §30-4-30(A)(2), a public body is not required to create an electronic version of a public record when one does not exist to fulfill a records request. However, pursuant to S.C. Code Ann. §30-4-30(B), if records are not in electronic format and the public body agrees to produce them in electronic format, the public body may charge for the staff time required to transfer the documents to electronic format.
Pursuant to S.C. Code Ann. § 30-2-50, obtaining or using public records for commercial solicitation directed to any person in the State of South Carolina is prohibited and is punishable by a fine of up to $500 and imprisonment up to one year, or both.
