New Student Orientation (NSO)

A great opportunity for incoming students to connect with us is by attending a New Student Orientation (NSO) session. New Student Orientation is conveniently offered online and gives you easy access to everything you need to know before you start classes at York Tech. Once you are accepted, you will receive information about how to access Orientation and complete your onboarding. In-person NSO sessions are offered throughout the Summer and are by invitation only.

What is New Student Orientation?

The purpose of the New Student Orientation program is to ensure that new students have a successful transition and integration into college life. We want to prepare you to become a York Tech student and ensure you have all the resources and information needed to be successful. This program promotes discussion among students, parents and family members, faculty, and staff on the expectations they should have for York Tech, and what York Tech expects of students.

ONLINE ORIENTATION

Accepted students will complete New Student Orientation online. We will email instructions on how to sign up for New Student Orientation and complete the course. While orientation is not required, we strongly recommend all students take advantage of the online Orientation to become more familiar with the college and learn about all of the services available to help you. Orientation covers topics such as financial aid, student technology, online learning, academic advising, and campus services and resources.

IN-PERSON SESSIONS

In-person New Student Orientation sessions are offered throughout the summer for Summer/Fall 2023 students and monthly in the fall for Spring students. In-person sessions are not required. At this event, you will connect with campus resources, get your student ID, and receive valuable information about York Tech.
