The Spring Commencement Ceremony is held annually in May. Visit the Graduation Information page for the specific date and additional information regarding the ceremony.

- Click on “Places”
- Click on “Frequently Used”
- Select "Apply for Graduation"
a. A NEW graduation application window will appear - Confirm that the program of study listed is correct
a. If the program is not correct or if applying for multiple programs, then click on "Apply to a Different Program" and complete the application
b. If correct, then proceed to step 7. - Click on "Apply" and complete all applicable information
- Please review all information and then Click "Submit"
All eligible students must submit a Graduation Application for each credential they plan to earn at the end of the current semester.
To apply for multiple credentials, students must click “Apply for a Different Program” within the Graduation Application and select the program.

If the graduation application deadline is missed, the student will need to contact the Registrar’s Office to complete a Late Graduation Application. The student’s name may not appear in the Commencement Program booklet; however, the student will still be able to participate in the Commencement Ceremony.
All eligible graduates must complete the Graduation Application, even if the student does not plan to participate in the commencement ceremony. The application ensures that the degree, diploma, or certificate is processed and mailed to the student.
There is no fee to apply for graduation.
Graduates will receive their credentials in the mail 6 – 8 weeks after the end of the semester that the final program requirement was completed.
Tickets are not required for entry into the Coliseum. All guests are welcome to attend. Seating is available on a first-come, first-seated basis.
Yes. The graduation ceremony will be live stream. The link will be posted on the Graduation page the day of the ceremony.
York Technical College does not hold a rehearsal for graduates. Faculty marshals will lead graduates during the processional and recessional to ensure everyone is in the correct place at the appropriate time.
A notification email will be sent to all eligible graduates during the Spring semester with detailed instructions on how to order caps and gowns, along with the deadline to place orders.
All ceremony participants are required to wear appropriate academic regalia that was purchased during the current academic year from York Technical College.
Graduates are allowed to decorate their caps but must follow the Cap Decoration Guidelines provided in the Commencement Guide.
Students are only allowed to wear cords and stoles that have been approved by the institution.
Students should not bring anything extra with them to check in as storage will not be provided. Any small bags carried should have a strap that can be worn under the gown, if necessary.
Honor graduate status is based on the student’s cumulative grade point average (GPA) at the end of the term in which they officially graduate.
Honor graduate status is based on the student’s cumulative grade point average (GPA) at the end of the term in which they graduate. Honor designations are Cum Laude for students earning a 3.5-3.74 cumulative GPA, Magna Cum Laude for students earning a 3.75-3.99 cumulative GPA, and Summa Cum Laude for students earning a 4.0 cumulative GPA at the end of their graduation term.
Diploma and degree students who earn a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher for all their coursework at the College through the fall semester of their graduation year and apply for graduation by the published deadline will be designated as candidates for honor graduate status on the graduation program. Certificate students are not eligible for honors recognition.
Graduation is when students have been officially awarded their degree, diploma, or certificate after completing all academic program requirements. The Commencement Ceremony is a public celebration to recognize and confer the degree, diploma, and certificate achievement by graduation candidates. A student has not graduated until all program requirements have been met.
