Microcredentials

Earn Credit for Prior Learning Through Microcredentials

York Technical College offers students the opportunity to earn academic credit through microcredentials. These short-term credentials may include industry certifications, competency-based assessments, and focused skill-building courses.

Students may also earn college credit for existing professional certifications or licenses, including ones earned through York Technical College's Workforce and Economic Development courses or other providers.  These certifications can include, but are not limited to: Contractor's License, Electrical License, CNA, CDL, HVAC, Microsoft, OSHA, CISCO, Google, etc.  Additional credentials can be considered. If your credential is not listed, you can request that it be reviewed for consideration by completing the Credit for Prior Learning Application

Credit awarded through microcredentials is evaluated by the appropriate academic departments to determine eligibility for awarding academic credit.

Students are encouraged to consult with their academic advisor to determine eligibility and how microcredential credits can be applied toward their program of study.
