The Institute for Teaching Excellence provides support for faculty and staff in multiple
areas including software training, eLearning development, online course design, and
other areas related to teaching excellence. Professional development and training
sessions on teaching excellence related topics are conducted throughout the year.
The Institute for Teaching Excellence provides training and webinars for faculty and
staff with the following programs and educational tools:
SoftChalk – create interactive eLearning content, interactive assessments, and activities
Screencast-o-Matic – record a video, computer screen, or presentation
D2L / Brightspace – the learning management system used for all courses
Virtual Classrooms – conduct virtual classroom sessions with students inside D2L
Video Assignments – create interactive individual and group based activities in courses
Poll Everywhere – create interactive, live polls with a variety of output methods
Zoom – conduct virtual meetings with students not specific for a given course
