The Administrative Office Technology Department offers students
the opportunity to learn skills needed to enter the workforce as highly skilled
office workers. Courses in this department prepare students for office work in
business and industry including medical and legal offices. Graduates find jobs
as administrative assistants, word processing specialists, and legal
assistants.
Students may earn an associate degree in Administrative
Office Technology, an associate degree in Administrative Office Technology with
a specialization in Paralegal, or a certificate in Data Entry, Legal Office
Assistant, Medical Office, and Office Applications.
Students use current
software and technology as they develop competencies in word processing,
spreadsheet, database, presentation software, and administrative procedures.
Students also have the opportunity to develop decision-making, research, and
public relations skills. This combination of skills prepares the student to be
successful in today’s office environment.
