Earn Your Associate Degree in Information Technology at York Tech

Whether your goal is to earn an associate degree to begin working, or to continue your education at a four-year college or university to earn a bachelor's degree, York Tech can help you develop an in-depth understanding of the foundations of information technology.

In this program, you'll be transformed into a knowledgeable potential employee, ready to showcase your skills at a job or another institution in only two years. You'll be able to set your own schedule and learn on your own with a range of flexible courses at your fingertips. Though some classes require face-to-face attendance, we offer a myriad of classes both day and night, as well as in a variety of modes including in-person, online, and hybrid. Combined with our knowledgeable faculty of instructors who truly care about your success, you'll harness your skills to launch an exciting future in information technology.

You'll have the option to choose between two specializations: programming or networking. You can learn to work in various programming languages (C#, C++, Java, Python, and PHP), use the .NET framework, design database systems, use multiple modern operating systems, relate network theory and design, and exhibit proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

By the time you graduate, you'll not only have the skills and confidence to pursue a successful career with room for growth, but you'll also have a solid resume that reflects your learning experiences. You may have the opportunity to participate in internships and apprenticeships offered in limited quantities by local businesses and industries. Contact our Career Center for assistance with resume-building, job postings, and work-based learning opportunities which may be used to replace a course.  (Restrictions apply on course replacement.) On top of that, you may even have a chance at getting hired at your internship/apprenticeship host company. The department faculty may have information about job opportunities as well.
