How to Apply to PROMISE
- Students must fill out the PROMISE application form, be accepted into the program and attend a new student orientation or be a returning student and attend a student update session, whichever applies.
- Obtain a copy of the “Tutorial Program Request for Services Form” online or in 302, Student Services Building (across from Admissions)
- Fill out Section I and Section II on the front of the form, and Section IV
- If your class format is a traditional classroom setting (i.e. you attend class twice a week on campus in-person), please follow the steps for Traditional Classroom Setting. If you participate in an online or tele-course, please follow the steps for Online or Telecourse Classes.

5. Take the form to your instructor, and ask the instructor to complete Section III. (The instructor may just sign the form and give us his or her contact information if it is the beginning of the semester, and you are a new student to that instructor. 6. Return the completed form to the PROMISE Program Tutor Coordinator or PROMISE Tutor Center Assistant. 7. Sign the Student Support Services Tutorial Program Agreement. |
5. E-mail your instructor the following: “I am applying for individual tutoring with York Tech’s PROMISE Program. The tutor coordinator needs to receive confirmation that you have received this e-mail. If you have any suggestions to assist the tutor, it would be appreciated. Please email vlujan@yorktech.edu to confirm you received this email from me and Thank you.” 6. Take your completed “Tutorial Program Request For Services Form” to Room 302 in the Student Services Building (across from Admissions). 7. Sign the Student Support Services Tutorial Program Agreement. |
