Stephen Turner, Director of Rock Hill Economic and Urban Development, presented facts and figures about how small business is affecting our local economy.Economic development success is most often associated with a the announcement of a major relocation or expansion by a very large business enterprise (think Boeing, Google, BMW). So, it's not a surprise that most communities focus on attraction of businesses and jobs from outside as their primary economic development strategy. But, is this the best strategy for creating new jobs? More than 30 small businesses exhibited and sold their goods and services on Tuesday evening, May 25, 2010, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Baxter Hood Center.
