founded by 11 of the world's largest and most progressive
construction companies. Students who enroll in the program train on
a 26‑acre tract located near Chester. South Carolina, using
name‑brand equipment such as bulldozers, backhoes, excavators, and
motor graders. Upon completing the program, students gain the
knowledge and skills required to use heavy equipment for land
clearing, building culverts and ponds, excavating ditches for
utilities, as well as pipe laying and road building. Also, they are

About
the
Training...
The
Heavy Equipment Operator Program is comprised of Basic and
Advanced level training. Both levels offer students nationally
recognized curricula developed by the NCCER. The curricula consist
of modular, competency-based courses designed by industry experts
and taught by NCCER accredited instructors.
Students with little or no heavy equipment experience are enrolled
in the Basic program. At this level, they learn how to operate the
most frequently used heavy construction equipment. This includes
bulldozers, front-end loaders, backhoes, excavators, motor graders
and scrapers. Students at the advanced level learn more advanced
operating techniques and how to work with grade stakes. Contact Ken
Strickland at 803-981-7338 for schedule information.
