Final Weatherization Training Project Scope Developed for the Office
of Economic Opportunity
To enable local
building contractors to become eligible/selected as a qualified SC
"weatherization" contractor for and /by the designated CAA's, South
Carolina must rapidly expand and improve its trained energy
efficiency/weatherization workforce.
Training in the following
areas is necessary to produce the workforce required to weatherize
existing
residential construction (1-5 units) and manufactured housing:
1)
BPI Building Analyst
Professional ( BA )
Must be held by Assessor, Inspector, Crew Chief

This credential would be the minimum required to be held by for any
individual to conduct energy
efficiency audits/assessments and to delineate the necessary and
required weatherization activities required at the (CAA) selected
residential homes (site build or manufactured).
·
This credential would be the minimum required to be held by for any
individual to conduct post
weatherization audit-inspections authorized by the CAA’s
for weatherization.
October 12 - October 16
8 am - 5 pm Monday - Friday
$1,800 includes books and test fees
Will be held at Construction Trades Building
2)
BPI Envelope Professional
(EP)
(energy auditors-residential homes,
1-5
units):
Must be held by Assessor, Inspector, and offered to Crew Chief

This credential will be offered to and may be held by any and all
(on site) "Weatherization Team/Crew
Leaders" engaged in the execution of the delineated weatherization
activities on residential homes in this project.
·
This credential, while a "stand alone" credential, builds upon the
BPI BA skills and knowledge.
3)
BPI Manufactured Housing Professional (MH)
(energy auditors-manufactured housing):
Must be held by Assessor, Inspector, and offered to Crew Chief
·
This credential will be required to be held by any and all (on site)
"Weatherization Team/Crew Leaders"
engaged in the execution of the delineated weatherization activities
on manufactured homes in this project.

This credential, while a "stand alone" credential, builds upon the
BPI
BA
skills and knowledge.
4)
BPI Insulation and Air Sealing Technician (IAST)
Weatherization Technicians (GreenSCTechs):
Must be held by at least one Crew Member on each crew
·
This credential will be offered to any and all members and is
required to be held by at least one member of all approved
'Weatherization Teams/Crews" engaged in the execution of the
delineated weatherization activities
