Adams Named Winner of Business Plan Competition

November 7, 2007

ROCK HILL, SC —Albert Adams, a student in York Technical College's Entrepreneurial Specialization in the Associate in Business Degree program, was recently named the winner of the Business Administration Department's first Business Plan Competition. Business Administration Department Manager Ginger Moore presented Adams with a check for $1,500.

The competition, held from August 21 through October 10, was made possible by a grant from the Coleman/Hughes Foundations.

The business plans were judged by Gary Williams of Williams and Fudge Inc.; Neal Kyber of NBSC; Angela Sloan of Sloan Financial; Ben Schiller of Schiller Law Firm; and Susan Brackett, York Tech's Dean of Continuing Education. The judges chose Adams' business plan for Adams Painting LLC, a residential and commercial painting company in Fort Mill.
