ROCK HILL—The
Radiologic Technology students at York Technical College will
celebrate National Radiologic Technology Week®
(NRTW) on November 2-8 and recognize the
contributions
of imaging professionals across the nation.
NRTW is celebrated annually to recognize
the vital work of
radiologic technologists. The celebration takes place each
November to commemorate the anniversary of the discovery of x-rays
by Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen on November 8, 1895.
The week-long celebration calls attention to the valuable work of
radiologic technologists in the health care field and the highly
technical images that they make. The
images play an integral
role in the medical process and in the lives of millions of
patients. Each image tells a story.
The Radiologic Technology program at York Technical College is a
two-year associate degree program in medical imaging technology.
With more than 1500 clinical hours completed upon graduation, the
students of the program garner much of their knowledge and technical
skill development by the generous efforts of area technologists who
share their expertise and training in the imaging field.
