ROCK HILL—York Technical College has announced that Linda Weaver-Griggs will assume the position of Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs, Health and Human Services Division, on August 13. She holds a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education from USC and many advanced certifications related to early childhood, including national board certification as an early childhood generalist by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. She will be completing the USC Higher Education Leadership Certificate program in December.

Weaver-Griggs has served York Tech in various capacities since 1990: Administrative Specialist, Weekend College Coordinator, Adjunct Instructor, Early Childhood Department Manager, and Associate Dean for Public Service.

She has been serving as Interim Associate Vice President since April. Her leadership has been instrumental in the initial accreditation of the Early Care and Education Degree, one of the first 35 nationally-accredited programs in the country, and the development and implementation of new public service programs such as Criminal Justice Technology and Human Service. Weaver-Griggs is recognized in our service area and throughout South Carolina as a leading educator and community leader in the Early Childhood field.
