Forensics Class Gets Hands-On Demonstrations from Blood Spatter Expert April 24, 2009
Investigator Pettler is the co-founder of North Carolina’s first and only Crime Scene Reconstruction and Behavioral Analysis Program (District 20A). She is a certified senior crime scene analyst with the International Association for Identification, the highest crime scene certification available worldwide, and has seven years of post-graduate work in bloodstain pattern interpretation and crime scene reconstruction. She is a doctoral candidate studying criminal behavior, the justice system, uxoricide, and the offender-alcohol-misuse correlation to violence against women. She is also an associate for the Laboratory of Forensic Science and serves as a faculty member for the Bloodstain Evidence Institute in Corning, New York. York Tech's Forensic Science course studies how criminal activity generates physical evidence as well as how to identify, collect, and preserve that evidence. The college's Science Department is geared toward college transfer students as well as professional program students.
