ROCK HILL—On Wednesday and Thursday, April 5 and 6, York Technical
College with the support of the North Carolina and South Carolina
Offices of HUD will host the SC/NC Home Energy Efficiency Conference.
The conference will be held from 12 noon until 5 p.m.
on Wednesday and from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Thursday at the
Baxter M. Hood Continuing Education Center on the campus of York
Technical College.
The public and media are also
invited to join Rock Hill Mayor Pro Tem Kathy Pender and featured
speaker Craig Drumheller, Senior Energy
Engineer with the National Association of Home Builders Research Center,
for the event. Other invited guests and speakers will include:

Dr. John Clark, Director of
the South Carolina Energy Office, will be presenting the South
Carolina programs on energy efficiency.

Larry Shirley, Director of
the North Carolina State Energy Office, will be presenting the North
Carolina programs on energy efficiency.
- Jim Chaplin, Senior Advisor, U.
S. Department of HUD, will be presenting the importance of energy
efficiency and conservation.
This unique conference will provide
information on the newest technologies and energy efficient applications
for single and multi-family homes. It will also offer providers of
energy-saving products and services exceptional opportunities to connect
with major government agencies in the Carolinas home market. The event
will valuable to home owners, home builders, realtors, financial
institution representatives, state and local housing officers, public
housing authority representatives, and community development housing
agency representatives.

to ask questions about the energy saving equipment and services on
display that can save money, energy, and the environment.
