Counseling Services in the Admissions Department at YORK TECHNICAL COLLEGE are provided by Master's Degree professional counselors with training and experience in assisting students with their academic, career, and personal challenges. We want to make the counseling experience friendly, accessible, comfortable, and, above all, helpful.  We want you to feel free to come in at any time so we can assist you in finding the resources you need to be successful at reaching your academic goals.
     Sometimes this assistance requires personal counseling to help you with areas of your life which may be interfering with your academic progress. We can also help you assess and understand your goals, values, interests, abilities, and other characteristics which affect career decisions. We also provide you with information about college policies, procedures, and support services.  You do not need an appointment to see a counselor in the Admissions Office. However, if you think your situation may require a substantial amount of time, you may want to call ahead so we can plan to provide you with the time and attention that you deserve.
       Faculty members or college staff may refer students to the Admissions Office for counseling on a variety of issues. We will work with you to find answers to your questions and solutions to your problems. Counselors are available to help you.
