Steps to Enrollment
York Technical College makes it easy to begin your journey …
- Complete and submit your York Tech application.
- Apply for Financial Aid, including Lottery Tuition Assistance, at www.fafsa.ed.gov and submit an official high school transcript and transcripts of any previous college credit you may have earned.
- Take the COMPASS placement test.
Next, you will accept the invitation to join the York Tech family when you receive your formal acceptance letter. Your letter will also include instructions about academic advising, registration, and orientation. A counselor will contact you by email or phone if we need you to provide more information.
Connect with us by attending a New Student Orientation session to schedule your classes (if you are a first-time freshman), or work with a program advisor on course scheduling and planning if you are a former student returning to York Tech.
Once you complete registration and pay for your classes, your official journey begins!
The Enrollment Services team is ready to help you with any questions you have along the way. They are available in the Student Services building or by phone Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at (803) 327-8008. *Click here for important information about health programs with limited enrollment (Nursing, Radiologic Technology, Dental Assisting/Hygiene, Surgical Tech, Central Service, Pharmacy Tech, or Medical Assisting).
*Remember to send your official high school transcript and SAT/ACT scores. Although a transcript is not required for admission, it is required for determining eligibility for many financial aid opportunities and admission to most Health and Human Services programs. If you have attended college before, please send your transcript showing all courses taken.
