Supervisory/Leadership Certificate
Programs
In
addition to the popular Supervisory Certificate Program, we are
offering the Advanced Supervisory Certificate. This series is
designed for new and emerging supervisors; team leaders who have
responsibilities that include some supervisory responsibilities;
employees who want to prepare for leading people, or even
employees who realize that knowing how to get the best
performance from fellow workers can benefit their own career.
Courses are
bundled in units. Each unit consists of three concentrated
modules, requiring a minimum amount of time away from the
workplace. Courses may be taken as a certificate program (all 4
units) or as individual units.
Seasoned professionals focus on sharing real-life experiences to
facilitate the learning process. Saturday or weekday/night schedules
are available. For additional information

say...
"I

from real life situations and was able to apply the material
immediately."
"The program was great, I plan to sign up other employees in the
future."
"I
wish the class met more than once a week because it is so
refreshing to be in a group setting where you can be so
frank and candid. I've learned as much from the other
students as I have from the instructor."

May 19th 2009, Small Business Expo
Nearly 200 visitors and vendors participated in the area's first
Small Business Expo held at the Baxter Hood Center. Seventy
vendor tables lined the Hood Center ballroom as consumers from
the three-county area came to sample wares, meet business
owners, and discover more about the small business community.
Visitors to the event were invited to evaluate vendors based on
marketing appeal, customer service and other attributes,
providing valuable feedback to the business owners and an
opportunity to win door prizes valued up to $250 each.
Participants were also invited to take advantage of educational
seminars throughout the evening. One not-to-be missed event was
the Young Entrepreneur Contest. Students as young as sixth grade
confidently walked to the podium and shared their business plans
with an audience of expectant parents, and encouraging
supporters. Sponsors of the Small Business Expo included York
Technical College's Entrepreneur Network, York County Regional
Chamber of Commerce's Small Business Council, and Citi
Foundation. Western Associates' Neat-Stuff-U and Founders
Federal Credit Union donated customized bags for attendees. Many
thanks to all those who donated door prizes and contributed to a
successful event!
